Huawei Watch Fit should launch in Europe on 10 September

Despite already having launched in the UAE, Huawei’s intriguing rectangular Watch Fit wearable is just days away from reaching new markets further westward.

The Huawei Watch Fit is already available to pre-order in the United Arab Emirates for AED399 and is set to go on sale locally on 3 September.

It’s unknown as to why Huawei chose to bring its new fitness-centric watch to this specific market first but it’s now thought that the Watch Fit will enjoy a second unveiling for European regions as part of the company’s latest developer conference, set to take place on 10 September.

September’s Huawei Developer Conference is actually expected to play host to a number of new products, including the previously-announced Freelace Pro neckbuds and the rumoured Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro.

The Watch Fit is most distinguishable thanks to its portrait rectangular 1.64in ‘Full-Vision’ OLED display. Fit wearers will not only benefit from support for 96 workout modes (including automatic detection for six of those) but 12 different animated ‘Quick-Workouts’, designed to fit in during work breaks or when time is short.

These animated workouts require no additional equipment and are all stored on-device, meaning they work offline (so they can be performed any time, anywhere). Huawei has also designed the Watch Fit’s unique user experience to support over 200 watch faces, with the option of customisable widgets too.

As well as sleep and heart rate monitoring, the Watch Fit is also equipped to track SpO2 levels, boasts a ten-day battery, features GPS and is certified for up to 5ATM of water resistance.

The casing comes in three colours: black, silver and rose gold, while a range of interchangeable silicone straps are also on offer in Graphite Black, Mint Green, Cantaloupe Orange and Sakura Pink.

The Huawei Watch Fit also bears more than a passing resemblance to the recently-leaked, unreleased Honor wearable that was spotted in a post promoted on Weibo by Honor’s president, George Zhao.
